Seaweed Luxury Villa on Jamaica's South Coast with its 270-degree views of the ocean becomes the latest member of Jakes’ villa collection which currently includes Calabash Bay Villa (and Calabash Cottage) on the doorstep of Jakes, and Hope House in the picturesque locale of Old Wharf, ten minutes from Jakes proper and which Seaweed Luxury Villa will also call home.

Painted in alluring hues of turquoises and sea greens to evoke the surrounding Caribbean Sea and with a choice of hiring the whole acre-and-a-half property – a four-bedroom main villa and two-bedroom sister villa - or just one of each, Seaweed is pioneering a new standard of luxury living with an eco-conscience on Jamaica’s south coast.

Groups and large families love staying in the luxe and eco-friendly Seaweed Villa, perched on a sprawling acre-and-a-half property. Painted in shades of sea green and turquoise, everything in the villa is meant to evoke the beauty of the Caribbean Sea. Natural fibers, like jute and sisal, hand-crafted wood, and river stones add an assortment of textures and tones to each of the villa’s rooms. Each thoughtful detail is as pleasing to the touch as it is to the eye.

In the main villa, there are four large bedrooms, including a lower-level suite. Also on the lower level, you’ll find a games room with a pool table, large-screen TV, and bar. (In addition to the main villa, you can also book a Seaweed cottage—adding an additional two bedrooms, for a total of six, and a plunge pool.)

When the sun shines, and at night, the picture-perfect, two-level infinity edge pool, with a hot tub, is… something out of a Hollywood movie. Not to be believed. There’s also a large, shaded exterior area, so there’s a place to spend outdoor time—no matter what the weather. The villa also has its own private beach cove. Walk down the stairs to our fully-stocked cabana and you’ll find kayaks, snorkeling gear, and boogie boards.

Facilities
A private gym with a steam shower overlooking the ocean will provide inspirational views whilst guests work out, while a two-level infinity edge pool and hot tub decorated with mosaics and shellwork are available for those who prefer to remain poolside.

Of course, no beachside property is complete without a barbeque and Seaweed comes up trumps with its generous outdoor grill decorated with stones and shells in swirling designs in homage to the sea nearby. Also on the site, there is an outdoor bar complete with a rattan roof for al fresco entertaining, a fire pit for cozy nighttime gatherings, and outdoor speakers are dotted about to ensure music is available at all times – an important aspect of island living.

Seaweed Luxury Villa provides kayaks, snorkeling equipment, and boogie boards for sea-based adventures as well as seven mountain bikes (for both adults and kids) for guests to explore the local area.

Things to know

A stunning location, Seaweed is perfect for families, multiple couples, a collection of friends, or a group on a retreat. Needless to say, the villa has a designated staff and cook. A true escape, it’s a favorite among celebrities in search of privacy. Although, of course, we can’t tell you who.
